This publication materialises transatlantic bonds through a digital and analogue correspondence that took place during the process of creating My Seashell Speaks of Childhood.

Rooted in the shared memory of the children’s poem Los zapaticos de rosa, a series of hand-carved linoleum cuts responds to the original illustrations published in La Edad de Oro, honouring Cuba’s printmaking tradition.

A WhatsApp chain invited Cubans across the globe to record voice memos of their own recitations and memories. In response, each contributor received one of the original prints by post.

Produced in collaboration with Bartek Piersciński, the publication consists of a package containing Riso prints, a transcript of the poem, and the artist’s personal translation. In this way, abstract coordinates are transformed into tangible matter.
